Mrs. Jerre Hill, whose serious illness
we have noted in several of our
issues, died at her home northeast of
town Monday night, after an illness
of some weeks and of intense suffering.
She has been in poor health ever
since an accident on the B. C. R. & N.
four years ago, near Maynard, in
which she was quite seriously injured.
The deceased had been a resident of
this vicinity for the past twelve or
fourteen years and was highly respected
by all who knew her as was attested
by the large number attending the
funeral. She was about forty years
of age. The funeral services were held
at the family residence yesterday
afternoon, being conducted by Rev.
G. E. Shear, of the M. E. church and
participated in by the Oelwein G A R
and W. R. C., Mr. Hill being an
old soldier and a member of the Post
and Mrs. Hill a member of the Corps.
There was a suitable selection of flowers,
among them a pillow with the leters
W. R. C. The remains were interred
in the Oelwein cemetery. Mr.
and Mrs. Hill have been married a
number of years but no children has
blessed their union. The husband has
the sympathy of all as have also other
relatives here. Mrs. Barden, Mrs. Fox
and Mrs. Davis, being sisters of the
deceased.
