MRS. JOHN NAURTZ.—Katharine
Engel was born in Germany Dec. 2Ist,
1830: come to America in I856, marryng
John Naurtz and locating in Milwaukee.
In 1865 they came to Waucoma.
Iowa, and from there they
moved to a farm in Fremont Tp.,
Fayette Co., where they resided till
two years ago, when they moved to
Sumner. She died at her home in
this city last Friday afternoon, Feb.
1st, 1901. The funeral was held Sunday
morning at the Ger. Evan.
church, her pastor, Rey. J. P. Pflaum
officiating. She was interred at Waucoma.
where four children lie buried.
She is survived by her husband, and
three children. Albert, on the old
homestead, Mrs. Aaron Moyer, of Fremont
Twp.. and Mrs. Louie Garden of this city.
