Miss Mary Cook d. 1932 at age 79

Word was received by relatives
in Oran Monday of the death
of Mary Koch, at Waterloo Sunday.

MISS MARY COOK.
Miss Mary Cook, 79, for 77 years
a resident in or near Waterloo, died
Saturday night at the home of a
sister, Mrs. Clara Seliger, 726 First
street west, from a complication of
diseases incident upon advanced age.
Her body was discovered at 7:30
a. m. Sunday, in bed, by a member
of the family.
Miss Cook had been bedfast for
nearly two years from arthritis which
set in after a fall.
She had been a resident of Black
Hawk county for 20 years, and preceding
that time had lived in Bremer
county for 57 years.
Miss Mary Cook was born Jan. 20,
1853, in Ohio, and moved to Iowa
when a child with her parents, John
and Susan Cook.
Surviving are three brothers, John
Cook, jr., at home; George Cook
Oelwein, la., and Nicholas Cook,
Readlyn, la., and four sisters, Miss
Celia Cook and Mrs. Seliger, at home;
Mrs. Daniel Kerns, Fairbank, and
Mrs. Edward McCue, Westgate.
Requiem mass will be celebrated at
9 a. m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart
Catholic church with Rev. J. M.
Molloy, pastor, officiating. Burial
will be in Fairbank. The family requests
that no flowers be sent.
Rosary society of Sacred Heart
Catholic church was to meet at 7:30
p. m. Monday at the home for
prayer.
