Edward McCue 1859 - 1929

Edward McCue was born near
Niles, Ohio, Feb. 15, 1859 and died at
his home near Westgate June 1st,
1929 at the age of 70 years, 3 mo. and
17 days.
He came to Iowa with his parents
when 7 years of age and settled near
Fairbank, Iowa, where he grew to
manhood.
On Jan. 24th 1888 he was married
to Catherine Koch at Fairbank where
they lived for 6 years, then moving
to the present home.
He was a devoted husband, kind
and loving father, a good neighbor
and highly respected in the community
in which he lived for 40 years.
He never fully recovered from an
attack of the flu, which he had last
December and gradually grew weaker
until death came to end his suffering.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his
loving wife, one daughter Mrs. Earl
McCunniff of Fairbank. la., four sons,
Richard and Laurence of Oelwein,
Robert of Harrold. S. Dak., and
John of Sumner. la., also twelve
grandchildren. An infant daughter
Clara, preceded him in death.
He is also survived by two sisters
Mrs. J. Linney and Mrs. Henry
Mahoney of Oelwein , one brother
William of Waverly and many other
relatives.
Funeral services were held in Westgate
on Monday morning and burial was in
the cemetery at Fairbank.
