Services Held For Anna Mae DeSart

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 16 at the Schutte Funeral Home, Postville, for Anna M. DeSart, who died Friday, January 13 at the home of her daughter, Dorothy, in Waterloo. The Rev. Dick Harberts officiated.

Born September 1, 1884, near Elgin, Iowa, Anna Mae was the daughter of John and Evalina (Beer) Kohler. She spent her early years in the Elgin vicinity.

April 20, 1905, she was married to Ralph L. DeSart and they made their home in Elgin for several years. After moving to West Bend, Iowa, they moved back to Elgin in 1915.

Mr. DeSart died in October, 1916. Mrs. DeSart moved to Waterloo in 1938 and lived with her daughter.

She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Holmes of Waterloo and Mrs. Nina Riser of Postville, and nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Waterloo.

Interment was in the Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Iowa.
