Nelson Bass died on the Taylor farm south-east
of Fairview church the 27th. The funeral was at
the colored neighborhood school house Wednesday
on the Fayette and West Union road. Rev.
McCormick of Oelwein preached the sermon and
on his return home while waiting for the train called
on us which we enjoyed very much.
