and Ortelia (Luloff) Kaltenbach.
He was baptized in the Lutheran Church at Jubilee,
Iowa and was confirmed at Maynard, Iowa. He received

In 1914 he moved with his parents to Independence
and there entered the livery and taxi business with his
father.
He was united in marriage with Miss Blanche Blaisdell,
daughter of Mrs. Ora Hockings of Oelwein, Iowa, on
January 31, 1918. To this union were born two children,
a daughter and a son.
Mr. and Mrs. Kaltenbach lived on a farm in Buchanan
county and later in Fayette county. In 1937 they began a
dairy business at Oelwein, Iowa, which is now being
continued by Mrs. Kaltenbach and her son.

few years and has been confined to his bed for the past
eleven weeks. During the period of his final suffering he
spent on week in Mercy Hospital at Oelwein, and one
week in the University Hospital at Iowa City. He was
brought home about one and a half weeks ago. There he
was given all help and care which loving hearts and medical
skill could provide. His condition, however, steadly grew
worse and on Sunday morning, November 5, 1939, he was
relieved from his earthy suffering. He attained the age of
41 years, 10 months, and 8 days.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Blanche Kaltenbach; his

sisters, Mrs. Etta Lauber of Oelwein, Mrs. Jessie Firth and
Goldie Perske, both of Independence, Iowa.

and a kind friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
The funeral was conducted from the Hintz Funeral Home by
Rev. H. C. Schiffler, Tuesday, November 7 at 2:00 pm.
Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
