PFC Irvine SCHMIDT
Oelwein, Ia. – Herman Schmidt of Oelwein received word that his son, Pfc. Irvine Schmidt, had been killed in action, Jan. 8 (1945), in Belgium.
Schmidt, prior to his induction into the armed services in October, 1942, was employed by the Oelwein Nursery Co.
He was a member of the medical corps and had been overseas the last year.
He is survived by his father, four brothers, two of whom are in the service, and four sisters.
