Noah Metzger

Noah Metzger, 78, died Friday morning, January 30, 1998 at the St. Joseph Community Hospital in New Hampton, Iowa, following a brief illness. He was born on March 14, 1919 in Elgin, Iowa and was the son of the late George Metzger and Louise Martie. He was an army veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 to 1946. He worked at the Elgin Canning Factory and later the Gunder Cheese Factory until his retirement. He lived most of his life in Elgin until entering the Sunrise Guest Home in Fredericksburg, Iowa in November of 1997.

Survivors include a sister Katie Grimm of Sabetha, Kan.; two brothers, Eli Metzger, Chatfield, Minn and John Metzger, Clermont, Iowa and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Elmer in infancy and Ervin and a sister Sarah Moore.

Services were held Monday, February 2 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Elgin. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Cemetery in Elgin.

Casket bearers were Phil Metzger, Dale Bilden, Bob Helms, Marty Swenson, Ron Baker and Don Bishop.
