SKUBINNA, HUEGLI, BARKS, SCHMIDT

OELWEIN — Otto H. Skubinna, 16 5th
Ave. N. E., Oelwein, died Wednesday
night, Dec. 4, at Oelwein Ccare Center
after a lengthy illness. He was 86.
Funeral services will be Saturday,
Dec. 8, at 1:30 p.m. at the Hintz-
Geilenfeld Funeral Home, Oelwein, with the
Rev. Arnold Imbrock officiating.
Friends may call at the Hintz-Geilenfeld
Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7.
There will be a prayer service at
7:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Long
Grove Cemetery, Maynard.
Mr. Skubinna was retired as a
painter for the Chicago Great Western
Railway. He also sold World Book
Encyclopedia for 20 years. He was
active in the Oelwein unit of the
National Association of Retired and
Veteran Railway Employees and the
American Lutheran Brotherhood,
having served as dartball commissioner
for ten years-
Survivors include his wife the former
Mabel M. Huegli; a son, Leon, Cedar
Falls; one sister, Emma Barks, North
Dakota; two brothers, Elmo, Walla
Walla, Wash.; and Albert, St. Paul.;
and three grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by two sons: Delbert
and Edward; his parents; two sisters;
and six brothers.
Mr. Skubinna was born Aug. 12, 1904
in Center, N.D., the son of Christopher
and Susan Schmidt Skubinna.
