Mrs. Carl Bartz passed away on
Monday morning at her home north of
Westgate after a couple of weeks illness.
Wilhelmine Albertine Auguste
Berndt was born December 23rd, 1865
at Claushagen, Bommern, Germany.
She was baptized and confirmed in 1879
and on July 20th 1886 she, was married
to Carl Bartz, and they came to this
country in the spring of 1892 and located
on a farm near Sumner and later
in 1894 they moved near Westgate.
Sunday, October 4th, she was taken
sick and on Monday morning, October
19th she died of tumor of the brain.
Her age was 48 years, 9 months and
26 days. She leaves to mourn her loss
a husband, seven daughters, namely:
Mrs. Theo. Knlef, Mrs. Albert Raether,
Mrs. Tho Fratzke, Emma, Louise, Clara
Elsie and two sons Otto and Wilhelm.
Two sons and one daughter died in infancy.
She also leaves six grand children
and one sister, Mrs. Sabine, of
near Westgate and two sister sand one
brother in Germany. The funeral services
were held at the farm residence
Thursday at 12 o'clock and at 1 o'clock
at St. Peter's Lutheran church. Interment
was made in the Lutheran cemetery
north of town.
