GREGORY, DAVIS

This community was shocked Tuesday morning to
learn of the sudden death of Mrs. W. G. Gregory,
living a few miles northeast of town. The lady was
in her apparent good health Monday, and after
partaking of a hearty supper in the evening, was
still seated at the table talking and laughing with
the family when suddenly she fell to one side and
partly off her chair and died without saying a word.
Dr. Baker was sent for but could do nothing, the
spark of life seeming to have departed as suddenly
as a person would snuff out a candle. The doctor
says the cause of death was undoubtedly some form
of heart trouble. The deceased was about forty-two
years of age and has resided in this vicinity for the
past eleven years, being not only highly respected
in her immediate neighborhood but by all whom she
formed an acquaintance. A husband and two children,
a son at home and Mrs. Will Davis, living east of town
besides other relatives and friends in this vicinity,
sincerely mourn her death. The funeral services were
held from the family residence at two o'clock Wednesday
afternoon and the remains were interred in the Otsego
cemetery. The bereaved ones have the kindly sympathy
of all in this sudden affliction which has come upon
them with such startling force.
