Funeral services for John McLeish, 89 will be held
Monday at 2 pm at Brant Funeral Chapel. Burial
will be in Long Grove cemetery at Maynard.
Mr. McLeish who was a farmer and did construction
work during his lifetime, died in Colorado Springs,
Colorado, Wednesday.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Lee Finders,
Oelwein; Mrs. Louie Bark, Randalia; Mrs. Harold
Brant, Fort Dodge; and Mrs. Ted Jacobs in California,
and three sons, Gordon McLeish, in California;
Robert McLeish, Fairbank and James McLeish, Baker,
Oregon.
Two brothers, Roy, Chicago and Arch, Oelwein, and
one sister, Mrs. Ella Simpson, Maynard, also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former
Jessie Taylor McLeish, October 4, 1934.
Mr. McLeish was born in Fayette county September
20, 1868, the son of Andrew and Katherine Strong
McLeish.
The body will arrive in Oelwein from Colorado early
Saturday morning and will lie in state at the Brant
funeral home after Saturday noon.
