Luella Mable Preston was born in Hampton, Iowa on
November 25, 1883 and passed away at the home of
her brother W. L. Preston, Oelwein, Iowa on Monday,
April 30, 1925, aged 41 years, 4 months and 25 days.
When but a small child she came with her parents,
Milton Miller and Mary Elizabeth Preston to Sumner, IA
where she resided until time of her marriage to Earl W.
Robinson on Sept. 10, 1902.
They established their new home in Oelwein, Iowa,
remaining here a short time, when they moved to
Spokane, Washington, residing there about ten years,
since which time their home has been in Minneapolis,
Minnesota.
Mrs. Robinson was the mother of eight children, two of
whom preceded her in death. Those remaining are
Leon, Lucile, Norman and Thomas of Minneapolis, Minn.
and the twins, little Jean and Jack who have been
adopted by Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Preston and Mr. and Mrs.
J. C. Leaton of Oelwein, Iowa.
On Oct. 2, 1924 on account of illness, she was brought
to the home of her brother, W. L. Preston and wife, where
she was given every care that human agencies could
render.
She was a patient sufferer during the time of her illness
which extended over a period of two years. Her death
resulting from the dread disease cancer.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and six
children, one sister, Mrs. J. C. Leaton of Oelwein, Iowa,
three brothers, Sterling E. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Warren
L. of Oelwein, Iowa, Cressy W. of Wilmington, California
and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the home of her
brother, 220 First Avenue, East Wednesday, April 22 at
3 o'clock by Rev. A. W. Henke, minister of Grace Methodist
church. Interment was made in Woodlawn Cemetery,
Oelwein, Iowa.
