Miss Louisa Davis was born at Bedfordshire,
England, May 1st, 1830 and
died at the home of her son in Fayette
County. August 23, 1919.
She was married to Mr. Gilbert
Lincoln in May 1856, in the state of
Ohio. To this union were born two
children. Mrs. Bessie Tippy of Waterloo,
Iowa, and John W. Lincoln
of Stanley, Iowa.
Mr. Lincoln died in 1907, since
which time she has made her home
with her son.
Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln were both
members of The church of England
and the subject of this sketch never
changed her church relation but retained
her faith in the Divine Master.
She 'was a kind, genial wife, mother
and neighbor.
Her home for more than half a
century was on the farm in Fayette
County, where they settled. She had
a wide circle of acquaintances and
friends. She has lived to a ripe old
age, has battled with the cares and
disappointments of this inconstant
life and is now released from them
to reap her reward in the Eternal
World.
Her active work is ended hut her
influence will still be felt by those
who wait, and mourn.
The funeral took place from the
home August 25, conducted by the
Rev. H. Foote of Hazleton.
