Darlene Schwartz

Darlene J. Schwartz, 68, of Oelwein, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at Mercy Hospital in Oelwein after a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 24, at 1 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein, with the Rev. Frederick Fangmann officiating.

Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein. The Hintz-Geilenfeld Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Darlene (Triggiani) Schwartz was born June 9, 1930, in Oelwein, the daughter of Veto and Minnie (Thomas) Triggiani.

She was married to Eben Schwartz July 14, 1946, in Independence. She was a homemaker. Darlene was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband, Eben; three daughters, Debra and Jim Harkness of Decorah, Connie and Steve Jensen of Carlisle, and Barb and Gerry Van de Vorde of Hazleton; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; and one sister, Gloria McDaniel of Pleasantville.

Darlene Schwartz was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice; three sisters, Delores, Mary and Dorothy; two brothers, Jovan and Don; and her parents.
