James A. McCarron
FAYETTE — James Anthony McCarron, 74, Fayette, died October 16 at Palmer Memorial Hospital, West Union. He was born May 9, 1899 at Reiley Ridge near Lawler, the son of Frank and Mary Jane Reiley McCarron. He attended school in Oelwein and lived in Oelwein until 1923. He was united in marriage to Maude Nefzger on Nov. 17, 1923 at Holy Name Catholic Church, West Union. He was in business for himself for sometime and then was employed by the State of Iowa, before retiring in 1961 and returning to his home in Fayette.
Survivors include: his wife, Maude; one brother, Francis and one sister, Margaret, both of Chicago, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Eugene.
Funeral services were held Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Church, with the Rev. Father Richard Kuhn officiating. Belles-Wright funeral home was in charge of arrangements, with burial at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein. Rosary service was held Oct. 18 at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Ellis Thompson, Harold Johnson, Scott Ostrander, Dale Roberts and Russell Dickinson, Fayette and Dale Chase, Sumner.
