Helm Funeral Held at Rowley (Courier Special Service)
Rowley, Ia., Feb. 1.—Funeral services for Charles Helm were held at the Methodist church here Monday afternoon, Jan. 30, the Baptist minister of Oelwein officiating. Burial was made in the family lot at Rowley. A short service was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Jensen, after which the remains were taken to Rowley. The deceased was born in Clayton county, Iowa Aug. 27, 1863, the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Helm.
He spent much of his earlier life in the vicinity of Rowley, but had been a, resident of Oelwein and West Union several years. He died at West Union. He had been in ill health for the past several years and was bedfast for the last three weeks from diabetes.
He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Mary Lau, Elkader; Mrs. Mary Sherrer, Monticello; Mrs. Fredericka McMillen, Oelwein, and one brother, John Helm, Oelwein.
