Cyrus Carnicle, 66, Dies In Iowa City
STRAWBERRY POINT (special)
— Cyrus Carnicle, 66, died Tuesday at the University hospital in Iowa City where he had been a patient the past 16 days. Son of Jacob and Sylvia Carnicle, he was born in Lodomillo township, Nov. 20, 1882. On Mar. 12, 1913, he married Ida Belle Annis. They farmed in this community until retiring to Strawberry Point several years ago.
Survivors are the widow, three daughters, Mrs. William Nightingale, and Mrs. Carol Hines, both of Strawberry Point; and Mrs. Emmet Shaw of Edgewood; two sons, Howard and Donald both of Strawberry Point; two brothers, Jacob Carnicle, South Bend, Neb., and William Carnicle, Edgewood; two half sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann Hines, Strawberry Point, and Mrs. Fred Bronson, Waterloo. He was preceded in death by two sisters, two half brothers and five half sisters.
Funeral at the Gill funeral chapel Thursday afternoon. Burial in the Ross cemetery, near Cox Creek.
