Frankie D. Erhardt, 71, of Waterloo, IA, formerly of Clermont, IA, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000 at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA, following a brief illness. He was born Dec. 27, 1928 at Clermont, IA to Dave and Ida (Burow) Erhardt.

He was united in marriage to Shirley Boleyn Witham in 1950 and they were divorced in 1975. He then married Laurel in 1978 and they were later divorced. Over the years he worked for WCF&N (Waterloo City Bus), Rath, Wonder Baking, Peter Pan Baking, McCoy Truck Lines. He was co-owner of Rank's Truck & Trailer Repair from 1956-1975 and worked for the City of Waterloo Parks Dept. from 1975 until he retired. Survivors include his two sons, Michael of Evansdale and Frankie Jr. of Traer; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Dreier of Postville and Anna Mae Newton of Dubuque.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; a son Daniel; two brothers, Fred in infancy and Raymond; three sister, Clara Kostman, Florence Ashbacker and Marian Wickham.

Casket bearers were Milo Sebastian, Gerald Vagts, Calvin Foels, James Erhardt, Chad Erhardt, and Harvey Johnson.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 2, 2000 with the Rev. Curtis Gunther officiating. Interment was at Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Iowa.
