Arlene Frances Roberts

Arlene Frances Roberts, 82, died Monday, June 19, 2000, at the Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 29, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stapleton, with the Rev. MiIton Johnson officiating.

Casket bearers were Bernard Deeny, Randy Roberts, Vernon Perry, Gene Winter, Gene Wenger and Otto Zmoos.

Burial was at the church cemetery. The Waucoma Funeral Chapel handled
arrangements.

Arlene was born Feb. 4, 1918, in Waucoma, the daughter of Walter and Eliza (Beier) Roberts. She graduated from Waucoma High School in 1934.

Arlene worked for the Department of the United States Navy in Washington, D.C. until 1950. She then moved to Portland, Ore., and worked for the Bank of California for 26 years.

Upon retirement in 1978, she moved to Waucoma, where she lived in her home until June. She then entered the Mercy Medical Center.

Arlene enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling and working at the Historical Society in Waucoma.

Survivors include one sister, Sylvia Roberts of Waucoma; one brother, Ellis and Barbara Roberts of Portland, Ore.; and nieces and nephews.

Arlene Roberts was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George Roberts.
