The last services for Mrs. J. W.
Ridler were held from the Presbyterian
church Sunday afternoon at 2:30, Reverends
A. E. Moody and E. L. True
officiating. Short services were also
held from the home on First avenue B.
at 2 p. m. there was a large concourse
of relatives and friends in attendance
at the church, which showed the high
esteem in which she was held. The
floral offerings were numerous and
beautiful.
Nettie Belle Bennett was born on a
farm two miles west of Oelwein,
September 4, 1869, and was educated
in the public schools. She was united
in marriage to J. W. Ridler. October
22, 1890. To this union were born
two children, Lela Jewel on August 6,
1897 and Alice Mary on June 5. 1905.
She died Feb. 6. 1908 at 2:10 a. m.,
aged thirty eight years two months
and twelve days. Besides her husband
and children she leaves a father, J. C.
Bennett, two brothers, C. T. Bennett
and I. P. Bennett, and a sister, Mrs.
Lillie D. Austin, of Hunter, Oklahoma.
A good daughter, faithful wife,
mother and friend, she will be missed
by many who extend sincere sympathy
to the mourning ones.
