Rites Are Held For Oscar Lind

Oscar Louis Lind was born August 4, 1873, in Drammen, Norway and passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, January 17, 1968 at the age of 94 years. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in his native land before his departure for the United States in 1892 at the age of 19 years. He arrived in Clermont by rail, and went to work the same year for Jens Brorby as a farm laborer.

On June 4, 1902, he was united in marriage to Emma Brorby. To this union two sons were born, Joseph and Marion. Oscar and Emma Lind farmed in the Clermont, Elgin and Gunder communities until their retirement in 1957, when they moved to Clermont.

Mr. Lind was preceded in death by his wife, Emma, in 1960, and is survived by his two sons, Joseph of Clinton and Marion of Manchester, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Services were conducted January 20, at 1:30 p.m. at the Marion Church, Gunder, with Rev. Robert Henriksen officiating. Interment was in the Clermont cemetery.
