Mrs. LESLIE G. (Dora Mathews) LEHMAN 1878-1966

Mrs. Dora Lehman, resident of Postville for the past five years, died at Community Memorial Hospital on August 1 at the age of 88 years. Born on January 20, 1878, the daughter of James Mathews and Libbie Mulholland Mathews, she lived in and around Farmersburg until 1909 when she moved to Elgin. On October 2, 1911 she was united in marriage to Leslie G. Lehman of Elgin and to this union was born one daughter, Lois.

She was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in Elgin and the W. S. C. S. Her entire married life was spent in Elgin until five years ago when she sold her home and came to Postville to live with her daughter.

She is survived by one daughter, Lois (Mrs. D. E. Tinker), and three grandchildren, Alan of St. Paul, Minnesota and Barbara and David. Also surviving are a half sister, Mrs. Gladys Reardon, and a half brother, Leigh Mathews, both of Farmersburg. Preceding her in death were her husband, L. G. Lehman, a long time Elgin hardware dealer; a brother and sister; and two half brothers.

Services were held at the Methodist Church in Elgin on August 3, 1966 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Walter Martin of Maynard officiating.
