Funeral services for Nora Larson were held Monday, April 15, 1991, at 10:00 a.m. in West Clermont Lutheran Church. The Rev. Donald Loots officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Gods Acres Cemetery at Clermont.

Nora Larson, 79, daughter of Nicholas and Augusta (Staake) Johnson, was born February 21, 1912, in Marion Township, near Gunder. She died April 11, 1991, in Palmer Lutheran Health Center at West Union, Iowa.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Marion Lutheran Church at Gunder. Nora attended the rural school near her home. On May 13, 1937 she was married to George O. Larson. They had five children. They farmed near Gunder as well as north of Postville and then in the Clermont area.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, who died August 19, 1968, one brother, Albert and three sisters, Alma Peterson, Ida Leutenmacher and a sister who died in infancy.

Surviving are two sons, George (Rhonda) Larson, Jr. of Rawlings, MD; Larry (Linda) Larson of Liberty, MO; three daughters: Gerene (Paul) Sawvell of Fayette, IA, Rose Marie (Gary) Tanner of Victor, IA and Karen (Donnie) Dunlap of Independence, IA; 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, Jacinda Cantrell, a brother-in-law, Fred Larson of Waterloo and a sister-in-law, Clara Larson of West Union and several nieces and nephews.

Nora was a member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church where she was active in the Women of the ELCA.

Casket bearers were Bradley Larson, David Dunlap, Jason Thorn, Charles Schneider, and LaVerne and Robert Nims.
