Henry H. Larson 1889-1961

Henry H. Larson, the son of Hans Larson and his wife, Mary Anderson Larson was born January 3, 1889. He was baptized in the East Clermont Lutheran Church in 1889 and confirmed on October 25, 1903, in the East Clermont Church by the Rev. Jacob Tanner. He has been a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville for many years. He died at his home on September 21, 1961 at the age of 72 years, eight months and 18 days.

He was married to Gertrude Pauline Erickson of October 9, 1913. To this union was born one son, Harry G. Larson of Ossian.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and sister in infancy; one sister, Mrs. Matilda Brandt; two brothers, Andrew and Lars Larson, all of Clermont.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Harry G. Larson of Ossian; three grandchildren: David, Sharon May and Karen Kay of Ossian; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Martin of Missoula, Montana, Mrs. Bertha Hoff of Kerkoven, Minnesota, and Mrs. Annie Hankland of Minneapolis; three brothers, Peter Larson of Silverton, Oregon, Oscar Larson of West Union, and Elmer Larson of Elgin.

He spent his entire life in the Postville area, except for five years on a farm south of Ossian, now occupied by his son, Harry Larson and family.

Funeral services were conducted at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Postville on Saturday, September 23, at 2:00 with the Rev. Charles E. Witt officiating. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
