Mrs. Elmer (Amelia Pauline Thorson) Larson 1890-1970

Funeral services were conducted from the East Clermont Lutheran Church, Saturday, April 25 by the Rev. Clarence J. Johnson for Mrs. Elmer Larson who died at La Crosse Lutheran hospital April 22.

Amelia Pauline Larson, daughter of Ole and Carrie Thorson, was born in Marion Township, Clayton County, Iowa, October 13, 1890. She was baptized in infancy and confirmed at the East Clermont Lutheran Church where she remained a lifetime member.

She received her education in the Marion Township and Elgin public schools. On January 3, 1914 she was married to Elmer Larson by the Rev. J. Theo Bursett in the home of her parents.

To this union four children were born: Marjorie, Mrs. Almer Amundson of Postville; Opal, Mrs. Orvin Olson of Iowa City, LaVerne and Oliver Larson of Elgin.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the East Clermont ALCW, being especially interested in the mission work of the church, maintaining correspondence with many missionaries.

Surviving are her husband, four children, 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Blockhus of Waverly and Rose Olson of Clermont; two aunts, Mrs. Julia Helgerson and Mrs. Dina Hanson and an uncle, Gust Gilbertson.

Interment was at the East Clermont Cemetery.
