A Mass of Christian Burial is being celebrated today (Wednesday) for Ivan A. Langreck, 47, of St. Lucas, Iowa. The Rev. David Beckman will celebrate the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Luke Catholic Church, St. Lucas.

Visitation was to be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the church. A Scripture service was set for 7 p.m.

Burial will be in the church cemetery with Jim Winter, Randy Winter, Justin Kuennen, Corey Sabin, Dean Schmitt, Dale Liddle, Tom Meyer and Anthony Sabin as casket bearers.

Ivan died of unknown causes Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at his home.

Arrangements are being handled by Burnham-Wood Funeral Home, West Union.

Ivan Anthony Langreck was born Oct. 20, 1962, in West Union to Alvin and Lila (Johansen) Langreck.

He was a 1981 graduate of Turkey Valley High School. Ivan then worked as a farmhand until the spring of 2003. Later he was employed with Midwest Irrigation, and at the time of his death he was employed with Rugged Rock, LLC.

On March 24, 2008, Ivan was wed to Patricia Farina.

Preceding Ivan in death were his grandparents.

Surviving are his parents; Alvin and Lila Langreck of St. Lucas; his wife, Patricia; two stepsons, Anthony Sabin and Corey (Amanda) Sabin, both of Decorah; two grandchildren; four brothers, Dennis, Gary, Kevin (Diana) and Terry Langreck, all of St. Lucas; a sister, Colleen (Kelly) Mishak of Alta Vista; two nieces; two nephews and other relatives.
