Gregory K. McCarty, 56, of Fayette, Iowa, died suddenly Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon.

No funeral services will be held. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein.

Gregory donated tissue to the Iowa Donors Network as a gift of life to others.

Gregory Keith McCarty was born May 25, 1953, in Anamosa to Keith and Betty Jean (Prull) McCarty.

He graduated from Anamosa High School in 1971 and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa in 1984.

On Aug. 17, 1980, he married Debra Berg in Anamosa.

His parents preceded him in death.

Gregory is survived by his wife, Deb McCarty of Fayette; three sisters, Connie (Todd) MacDonnell of Scott City, Kan., Tracy McCarty of Anamosa, and Kristy McCarty of Springville.
