Mrs. Jennie McLaughlin, wife of
John McLaughlin, died at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Mattison on Burlington
street, Jan. 10, at 3:45 p. m.,
after a long spell of sickness, of which
she was a patient sufferer, with that
dreaded disease, consumption.
Mrs. McLauglin's maiden name was
Jennie Morrison. She was born Sept
8, 1847, in Ingersol, Canada, and
with her parents came to Chicago in
1857, in 1860 moved to Lansing, Iowa,
in 1866 at the age of 19 years she was
united in marriage to Mr. John Mc-
Laughlin on Dec, 13. There were
eight children born to them and but
four of them survive her — Wm. H. of
Battle Creek. Mich., Charles R., of
Oelwein, Mrs. Mae Devereaux and Joe
D., of Dubuque. They were all present
at her death. The funeral services
were held at the Sacred Heart church
where high mass was tenderly conducted
by Father O'Conner. The interment
took place in the Oelwein (Catholic)
cemetery.
