Mary Ann Fox, daughter of James T. and Jane (Duff) Dempster, was born near Arlington, Iowa, August 25, 1866 and died at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union, Wednesday, June 9, 1971 at the age of 104 years and 9 months. She was a life long resident of this state.

She was united in marriage to Alfred W. Fox of Quimby, Iowa. To this union was born seven children; 5 of whom survive: Mrs. Floy Cline of Castalia - Grace, Mrs. Archie Brooks of Arlington - James of Fayette - Estella, Mrs. Dewey Thompson of Oelwein - Cora, Mrs. Durl Trusty of Webster City, Iowa. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 85 great grandchildren and 31 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters: Margret, Mrs. Leroy Cline and Eliza, Mrs. John Staffenhagen.

Mrs. Fox was a pioneer resident of Iowa, having had many experiences which she loved to share with friends.

Funeral services were from the Church of Christ at Arlington Friday, June 11 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Curtis H. Webster officiating. Burial was at the Taylorville Cemetery near Arlington.
