H. F . Munger died Thursday morning,
Feb. 27, 1896, of rheumatism,
heart trouble and old age, aged 86
years, 10 months and 15 days; had
been a member of the Methodist
church for more than 60 years.
Mr. Munger Was born in the town
of Clavcrack, Columbia County, N.
Y., on the 11th day of April, 1809;
was married to Miss McFarland in
in 1832 and ten children were born
to them, six of whom are living. He
moved his family from his native
state to Mount Vernon township,
Blackhawk county, Iowa, in 1856.
Buried his wife there near Cedar
Falls in 1869. He came to Fayette
in 1870; was married to Mrs. Orpha
Strait Webb Aug. 30, 1870, by Rev.
W. H. Brocksome, and has since resided
here. A brief service was
conducted bv Dr. Fellows at the M.
E. Church on Friday, at 3:00 P. M.
A second service was held at Cedar
Falls Sunday morning, conducted by
Rev. John Bowman. Burial at Cedar
Falls.
