Funeral services for Helen M. Kittelson were held at 1:30 p.m. at the West Clermont Lutheran Church, Wednesday, March 23. Rev. Donald Loots officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in God's Acre Cemetery, Clermont.

Helen Mildred Kittelson, daughter of Gilbert and Lena (Johnson) Anderson, was born April 23, 1918 in Marion Township, Clayton County, Iowa. She died Saturday evening, March 19, 1988 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, WI.

She was baptized June 9, 1918 and on May 8, 1932 she was confirmed at the West Clermont Lutheran Church. She attended school in Clermont, Upper Iowa University and was a teacher in the rural schools.

On November 17, 1944 she was married to Clarence "Toby" Kittelson at the West Clermont Lutheran Church. The couple had 7 children. She has lived in Clermont all her life.

She was a member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church, a Sunday school teacher for many years, active in the ALCW and church choir. She was a member of the Clermont Study Club GWFC-IFWC, an active member of the Fayette County Republican Women, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Historical Commission, the Golden Age Senior Citizens and a former member of the Grand Meadow Club.

Preceding her in death are her parents and one sister, Gladys McClurkin.

She is survived by her husband, 5 sons, Gary of Minneapolis, MN, Steven and John, both of Clermont, Richard of Seattle, WA, and Roger of Knoxville, TN; 2 daughters, Bonnie (Mrs. Charles) Gooch of Rockford, IL, Linda (Mrs. Jess) McCleary of Avon, CO; 3 grandchildren; a brother, James of Clermont and 2 sisters, Agnes Kloster of West Union and Patricia Miene of Postville.

Casket bearers: Harold Halverson, LaVerne Swenson, Curtis Gilson, Leslie Johnson, Vernon Anderson, Bert Henderson, Eugene Thorson and David Miene.
