Funeral services for Helen M. Osmundson were held Wednesday, April 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont. Rev. Donald Loots officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the First Lutheran Church Cemetery, Ossian, Iowa.
Helen Marie Osmundson, daughter of John and Karina (Halverson) Johnson, was born March 11, 1901 in Clermont, IA. She died Sunday, April 17, 1988 at Maple Crest Manor, Fayette.
She was baptized and confirmed at the West Clermont Lutheran Church and she attended the Clermont Public Schools.
On February 18, 1925 she married Oscar Osmundson at Clermont. The couple had 3 daughters. They farmed in the West Union area until Oscar died March 21, 1934. Helen then moved with her daughters to Clermont and lived there before entering Maple Crest Manor at Fayette.
She was a member of West Clermont Lutheran Church and the ALCW. She was also an active member of the Priscilla Working Band and Mission Society until her sight failed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Lorraine Berns, who died Aug. 12, 1984, a brother, Clarence Johnson, and 2 sons-in-law, Verdell Hulbert and Gerald Lestina.
She is survived by 2 daughters, LeAnna Hulbert, Clermont and Arlene Welsh, Williamsburg, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces and a host of relatives and friends.
Casket bearers were Nanfred Osmundson, Norman Gilbert, Irvin Osmundson, Orville Berg, Orville Oyloe, and Dennis Rear.
