Valdine Olson

Funeral services for Valdine Olson were held Thursday, Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Norway Lutheran Church, St. Olaf, Iowa. The Rev. Keith Klemm officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Valdine Olson, daughter of Wettle and Ambjor (Landsgard) Wettleson, was born Sept. 30, 1897 in Marion Township, Clayton County. She died Jan. 11 at Maple Crest Manor, Fayette, Iowa at the age of 84.

She was baptized and confirmed at the Marion Lutheran Church, Gunder. She has been a member of the Norway Lutheran Church, St. Olaf, for most of her life. On Oct. 26, 1918 she married Millard E. Olson. To this union two children were born. They farmed in Wagner Township until they retired and moved to Clermont in 1962.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, Emma (Mrs. Emil Gulsvig) and Annie (Mrs. Knut Olson) and a brother, Louie.

Surviving are a son, Clifton L. Olson, of Clermont, a daughter, Margie (Mrs. Edwin O'Brien) of St. Olaf, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
