James Millard Olson

James Millard Olson, 65, died at his home in Clermont, Tuesday, March 23, after a prolonged illness. He was born December 28, 1899 at Browns Valley, Minnesota, the son of Thomas and Josephine Olson. At the age of three months, Mr. Olson, with his parents, brother and sister, moved to Iowa in the Clermont vicinity. He received his education at the Clermont rural schools, and following made farming his occupation. Upon retirement, he and his family moved to Clermont in January, 1961.

On October 21, 1939 he was united in marriage to Lila Walvatne of Ossian. To this union two daughters were born, Sonja Karen who died in infancy, and Lana Lou now at home. He is survived by his wife; daughter Lana Lou; and his sisters, Mrs. Enoch Mork, and Mrs. Harry Helgerson, both of Clermont. Preceding him in death were his daughter, Sonja; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Olson; and his brother Joseph. He was confirmed at East Clermont Lutheran Church and has remained a member there.

Funeral services were held March 26 at East Clermont Lutheran Church with Rev. Roger Peterson officiating. Burial was at East Clermont cemetery.
