A Funeral Mass for Anastasia A. "Starr" Holder, 89, of Waucoma will be celebrated by the Rev. Marvin Salz at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waucoma Iowa.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Darlene Aegerter, Dale Lechtenberg, Joe Steinlage, Leann Franzen, Roger Schwamman and Benny Brincks will be the pallbearers.

Visitation was set for Tuesday, July 7, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Waucoma Funeral Chapel in Waucoma.

Burnham-Wood Funeral Home, West Union, is handling the arrangements.

Starr's death from age-related causes occurred Sunday, July 5, 2009, at The Wellington Place, Decorah.

Anastasia Anna "Starr" (Schwamman) Holder was born Feb. 17, 1920, in St. Lucas to Chris and Rose (Franzen) Schwamman.

She attended St. Luke's Catholic School in St. Lucas for eight years.

On May 23, 1944, Starr married Jerome Holder at St. Luke Catholic Church, St. Lucas. The couple initially lived on a farm near Hawkeye, but then moved to Alpha. From there, they moved to Waucoma.

Preceding Starr in death were her parents; her husband, Jerome, on Sept. 23, 1995; three sisters, Katie, Agnes and Louise; and four brothers, Ben, Frank, Edward and Gerhardt.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.
