PAUL L FAUSER
KILLED BY AUTO
Former Resident of Fayette Vicinity
Was Struck While on Duty In Oelwein
Fayette people were shocked to learn of the death on Saturday of Paul L. Fauser at Oelwein, who died from Injuries received when he was struck by an automobile while on duty as a flagman for the C.G.W. railway. The accident occurred at the railway crossing on South Frederick avenue about midnight. He was hit by a car driven by Ed Lohrman of Oelwein as he was standing in the middle of the street directing traffic. He was taken to the hospital and died soon afterward.
Coroner J. R. Wood of Wadena held an inquest Saturday afternoon. The jury decided that evidence of a possible degree of negligence on the part of Mr. Lohrman was insufficient to hold him, and he was discharged. It appeared that he was driving at about ten miles an hour when the accident occurred. Paul Linden Fauser was the son of Adolph and Ida Fauser and was born near Fayette, Sept. 1, 1898.
