The death of M. V. Freeman occurred
at his home in this city Sunday after
A long illness from a complication of diseases,
and the funeral occurred yesterday
afternoon from the Christian
church.
He was a member of the M. W. A..
and over a hundred of that organization
attended the last services in a body, Rev.
Zabriskie, of Stanley, delivering the
discourse.
M. V. Freeman was born in West Bay,
N. Y., and he was 48 years, seven
months and one day of age at the time
of death. He came to this section in the
70's, and was well known in this city
and vicinity where he had been in business
for a number of years. His wife was
Miss Jennie Housden, and to this union
were born two daughters who with
the wife survive to mourn his loss.
The regard in which he was held was
shown by the attendance at the last
services and by the beautiful flowers
bestowed by the M. W. A. and the
Royal Neighbors. He carried life insurance
in the M. W. A. to the amount $8,000, and in
the Royal Neighbors $1,000, and thus leaves his family
well provided for. The sympathy of many
friends is extended to the stricken family.
