Robert Paul Cook, 84, West Union, Iowa, died Friday, May 22, 2009, at his home following a brief illness.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at Bethel Presbyterian Church, West Union, with burial in God's Acres Cemetery, Clermont. Visitation is after 1 p.m. at the church Tuesday.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clermont, is in charge of arrangements.

Robert was born April 10, 1925, in Clermont, Iowa, to George and Louisa (Grossman) Cook. Robert married Ramona Fram Oct. 7, 1947, at West Union. Robert and Ramona farmed together for a number of years. He then worked in law enforcement as a police officer at Sumner, Cresco (five years at each city), and for the city of Clermont from 1976 until retiring in 1987.

Survivors in include his wife, Ramona, West Union; two children, Ricky Marie Cook Peterson, Wentzville, Mo., and Roger (Kay) Cook, Westgate; and one-granddaughter.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert Alton Cook Jr.; one brother, Gerald Cook and one sister Priscilla Larson.
