Norma Augusta Pratt

Funeral services were held for Norma Augusta Marie Warner Pratt, 80, Tuesday, April 21, 1992, at the Elgin Lutheran Church, Elgin. Rev. Harold McMillin officiated the service with burial in East Side Cemetery, Elkader. Pallbearers were Kenneth Butikofer, Terry Cummings, Arnold Guyer, Mark Schilling, Michael Pratt and Steve Kroeger.

Norma Augusta Marie Warner Pratt, the daughter of Charles and Ella (Becker) Warner, was born January 31, 1912, at Durant. She grew up and was educated in the Durant area attending country school. The family later moved to a farm near Randalia where she graduated from high school. On September 18, 1933, she was united in marriage to Azel Pratt at the St. Olaf parsonage. They purchased the McGrath farm in Boardman Township of Clayton County, where they farmed until her husband's health failed. After his death June 12, 1978, she remained on the farm for a short time, moving to Elgin in 1979 to be near her daughter and families. She lived in the Carl Brainard home until 1980 after a serious operation in LaCrosse, Wis. At this time she took an apartment near the Elgin Lutheran Church. She remained there until moving into the Good Samaritan Home at West Union in 1987. Norma Pratt died there Saturday, April 18, 1992. She was a member of the Elgin Lutheran Church and was active as a circle member. She enjoyed the activities as a member of the Elgin Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a son Raymond of Gainesville, Ga.; two daughters, Mrs. John (Kathryn) Schilling of Colesburg and Mrs. Dan (Anna Marie) Butikofer of Elgin; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; a sister Henrietta Peters of Santa Paula, Calif.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Raymond Warner and her parents.
