Funeral services for Clara S.
Gjovaag, 56, longtime Oelwein
school teacher will be held Mon-
day at 10 a.m., at the Hinlz funeral
chapel and at 3 p. m. at the
Salem Lutheran church in Roland
with the Rev. S. R. Wall officiating.
Burial will be in the Roland
cemetery.
Miss Gjovagg died today (Friday)
at 4 a. m. at Mercy hospital
in Oelwein.
Born July 5, 1903, in SLavangcr,
Norway, to Jonas and Karen
Swenson Gjovaag, she came to
America in 1906. She taught at
Oelwein grade schools for 32 years.
A resident of Oelwein for the
past 32 years, she is survived by
one sister, Mrs. J. D. (Sigrid) Murray,
Oelwein; four brothers, Sigrud
Olsen, Independence, Chriss
Olsen, Mesa, Ariz.; Sever of Sioux
Falls, S. D., and the Rev. Jonas
Jovaag, Springfield, Minn.
Body will lie in state at the
Hintz funeral home after noon
Saturday.
