Carl Weitenhagen, 79, well known here, died at the home of his son, William, in Adrian, Mich. last Saturday. The funeral was held here Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church with burial in the Hawkeye Cemetery.

Carl August Weitenhagen was born Jan 30, 1855 at Pallin, Pommerania, Germany. He was the son of Frank and Minnie Hueber Weitenhagen. On Dec 14, 1882 he married Friedricka Scheel who died in 1918, and to this union the following children were born: Frank, Fredericksburg; Emil and William, Adrian, Mich; August, Sumner; Carl, Jamestown, ND; Mrs Anna Hehmke, Hawkeye; Fred, West Union; and Mrs Emma Blockhus, Elgin.
