Frances Pettit Schrack 1857-1931

Frances Pettit, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. James Pettit was born near Londi,
Wis. March 10, 1857 and passed away
at home of her daughter, Mrs. Mabel
Damon, Feb. 24, 1931 at age of 73 years
11 months, 15 days. On March 20, 1880
she was united in marriage to Jones
Schrack and this happy couple made
their home on a farm in Black Hawk Co.
till 1891 when they moved to Fairbank
and later in 1920 to Oelwein where they
lived until Mr. Schrack death on April 5, 1925.
To this union five children were born who
are left to mourn. They are Mrs. Maude King,
Arthur, Harry and Mrs. Ed Damon of Oelwein
and Earl of Salt Lake City, Utah. Besides the
five children she leaves seven grandchildren
five great-grandchildren and one sister,
Hattie Eldridge and one brother, Will Pettit
both of Waterloo and numerous other relatives
and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted
hy Rev. Mrs. Hillis in the First
Baptist church Friday at 2:00 pm
Mr. Donald Baum accompanied
by Mrs. R. M. Duke sang three
songs selected by the family. The
interment was in Fairbank
cemetery. The final service was
conducted by the Eastern Star order.
