Jerold Duane Farrell, 24, arrived in Waucoma from Germany Wednesday - morning and funeral services were held at St Mary's Catholic Church; burial in church cemetery; born Dec. 23, 1929, at Fayette, son of Leo and Doris (Widger) Farrell; died July 23, in Gopplengen, Germany (rmf note: probably Göppingen, West Germany), due to injuries received in a vehicle accident the day before; enlisted in the army in December, 1947 and served two years in Japan; married Darlene Prinrose of Cedar Rapids, Oct. 9, 1950, at Fort Riley, Kan.; transferred to Germany in 1951 and his wife joined him there in March, 1952; survived by wife and son, Kevin Royce, eight months old; father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Farrell, Kansas City, Mo.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Farrell, Waucoma; preceded by mother.

SGT. JEROLD FARRELL, WAUCOMA — Funeral services for Sgt. Jerold Duane Farrell were held at 10:30 a. m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at St. Mary's church, the Rev. Clarence E. Drummy officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were former schoolmates, Freeman Adams, DeWayne Bruess, Alvin Myers, Philip Kruse and Jerry and James Smith. Jerold Duane, son of Leo and Doris Widger Farrell, was born Dec. 23, 1929, at Fayette and lived in Waucoma, where he attended St. Mary's and the local public school. He enlisted in the Army in December, 1947, and served two years in Japan. He married Darlene Prinrose, Cedar Rapids, Oct. 9, 1950, at Ft. The body arrived in Waucoma Aug. 12. Survivors include his wife and son, Kevin Royce, eight months; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Farrell, Kansas City, Mo., and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Farrell, Waucoma, with whom he lived following the death of his mother when he was two years old. (rmf note: Jerold’s mother Doris WIDGER Farrell died 6 Nov 1931.)
