FAYETTE -- Marlene K. Ungerer, 70, of Fayette, died Thursday, Oct. 2, at Maple Crest Manor Care Center, Fayette, following a long illness.

She was born June 4, 1938, in West Union, daughter of Bernyl and Adele Leik Wells. She married Russell Ungerer on March 20, 1956, in West Union.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Fayette.

Survived by: her husband, Russell of Fayette; three daughters, Connie (John) Galloway of Cedar Falls, Shirley Ungerer of Fayette and Nancy (Mark) Creery of Hawkeye; four grandchildren; a brother, Derwood (Darlene) Wells of Clear Lake; and a sister, Marjorie (Wayne) Schwinefus of Decorah.

Preceded in death by: two sons, Randy and Gary; a brother, Daryl Wells; and a sister, Janeen Schott.

Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, Fayette, with burial in Hawkeye Cemetery, Hawkeye. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Fayette, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
