Janet Kay Medberry
A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. on June 23, 2004 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Elgin, Iowa for Janet Kay Medberry with burial at the Elgin Cemetery, Elgin.
Leonard Funeral Home, Elgin, was in charge of arrangements.Janet Kay Medberry, 41, of New Hope, MN, formerly of Elgin, died Sunday morning, June 20, 2004 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN, following a sudden illness.
Janet Kay Medberry was born May 29, 1963 to Clifford and Elinor Wiley Medberry in Postville, Iowa. She was a baptized and confirmed member of St Paul's United Methodist Church. Jan attended the Valley Community Schools where she was active in the band and chorus, graduating in May 1981. Jan attended the University of Iowa and graduated with a Bachelors in Accounting in August 1985. She proceeded to obtain her Masters in Accounting in May 1987. In June 1987 she started to work for Nortronics as an accounting supervisor. She left there in February of 1991 to join the work force of Schneider, a subsidiary of Pfizer. In 1994 she gained employment at Graco, Inc in Minneapolis where she was employed until the time of her death. Her devotion to her Graco family and the success of that organization was very well known by her family and friends.
Having been born in the vastness of rural America, God saw it fitting to place Jan's wonderful close childhood friend, Cindy Frieden Torkelson, just 1500 feet from front door to front door. Jan enjoyed traveling with her family and with her good and dear friend, Alison Wiskel. She also held dear her God-child and niece, Priya Medberry. Jan was always there for us when we needed her and will be sorely missed. She will also be missed for her humor, organizational skills and readiness to make hard work feel easy.
Jan is survived by her parents, Cliff and Ellie Medberry, her grandmother, Vina Medberry, her brother Scott and his wife Poonam and daughter Priya, and by her brother Kevin and his wife Patty. Jan was preceded in death by her grandparents H.R. and Helen Wiley and by her grandfather, Max Medberry.
