Isaac Machamer - Civil War Veteran d. 1916

The remains of Isaac Machamer arrived
in Hazleton Thursday afternoon
and the funeral was held in the Presbyterian
church at 3 o'clock, conducted
by the pastor, Rev; J. W. Everts
and the body was laid to rest
beside his wife in the Hazleton cemetery.
Mr. Machamer was 80 years old
and died at the home of his daughter,
Mrs. Matilda Hein after an illness
extending over a year. He was a veteran
of the Civil War, having enlisted
with Company E of the, 45th Illinois
regiment; And,served through the war.
He was born in Pennsylvania and
lived there till 11 years of age. He
has been a resident of Waterloo for
eight years, going there from Hazleton
where his wife died about 20 years,
ago. Mr. Machamer is survived by
Mrs. Hein, one son. Thomas, of Waterloo
and three step-daughters, Mrs.
Elzina Reynolds, Independence, Mrs.
Delia Rathbun, Oelwein, and Mrs.
Carrei Linn, of West Concord, Minn.
