OELWEIN - Glen Elwood Wetherbee, Oelwein, died Wednesday
morning, Jan. 31, at Grandview Healthcare Center, after a long illness.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Jamison-
Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, with the Rev. Robert Elam officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, and from 9:30 to
10:30 am. Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home.
Survivors include a brother, Richard Wetherbee, Colorado Springs,
Colo; a sister, Arlene Johnson, Plainfield, Ind.; and several nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Delbert
and Leslie (Pete).
Mr. Wetherbee was born Jan. 15,1912 at Oelwein, the son of James
and Effie Kuhns Wetherbee. He was a lifelong resident of Oelwein. He
served in the United States Army during World War II and had been a
machinist and blacksmith at Kuhns Blacksmith Shop in Oelwein for 35
years. He was formerly a member of the Oelwein American Legion Ross
Reid Post No. 9 and the Archery Club.
