Born in England, May 24, 1825
Daniel Manning, moved to Iowa in
1869. Died in Stanley, November 3,
1900 at 5:40 p. m. The funeral was
held in the Stanley Union church at 1
p. m. Monday, Revs. Foote and Cassat
officiating. The Hazleton Male Quartette
furnished the music which was
very pleasing. The flowers and floral
designs were beautiful. The church
was crowded from pulpit to street
his friends were all who knew him.
He was always happy until the decease
of his beloved wife some three
years ago. A pleasing picture on this
sad occasion was his live children with
their children including his two great,
grand children were able to be his
bed side daily and be seated in a body
at his funeral. They all mourn, yet
none mourn. He was ready and anxious
to go, had lived a good Christian
life, was anxious to be reunited with
his wife in the beyond He is better
off.
